The 2012 Michelin Guide, the best-known and sought-after guide to Italian restaurants, now in its 57th year, recently awarded a star to the Chef Sebastiano Lombardi and the Cielo restaurant at Relais La Sommità in Ostuni, the famous “White Town” in the province of Brindisi.

The quality, goodness and intensity of flavours from the Apulian countryside are put together using creativity and respect for a culinary tradition that never ceases to amaze and enchant the palates of experts and gourmets.

The past and present come together in the dishes which Sebastiano Lombardi prepares with great passion, combining traditional recipes with a creative streak that does not forget the flavours and fragrances of Puglia’s natural, high-quality produce.

The desire to blend tradition with innovation in a contemporary cuisine has been consolidated over the years, thanks to working experience that has seen this Chef employed at some of the most important restaurants in Italy.

From his debut at the Hotel and Catering College in Melfi to Relais Chateaux Il Pellicano with the Chef Antonio Guida and Terme Manzi Hotel in Ischia with the Chef Nino di Costanzo, and now at Relais La Sommità in Ostuni, where he places his cuisine at the service of art.

Professionalism and talent of Chef Sebastian Lombardi allowed its inclusion in the restricted circuit Charming Italian Chef (CHIC) and therefore among the best exponents of the food made with typical products in the territories of each part of Italy.
