Torre Guaceto appears as a strange patchwork of various environments and is representative of an admirable example of environmental protection.
Recognition as a wetland area of international importance was obtained in 1981 according to the Rasmar Convention and it has been a WWF oasis for years, then becoming a natural reserve and a protected marine area managed by a consortium which is part of the Caravigno, Brindisi municipalities together with the WWF.
Torre Guaceto is a pearl in the Adriatic: 6 km of uncontaminated coastline with charming coves of very fine golden sand which invite you to discover the crystalline and uncontaminated sea, the streets and pathways which lead you to the seafront descend amongst ancient olive groves and centuries-old junipers of the Mediterranean type which climb the high sand dunes, reeds where the migratory bird population find refuge, and the splendid torre Aragonese built in the 16th century as defence against the Turks and against pirates. The activities organised from the Parco enable you to discover the wonders of Torre Guaceto in a fun and pleasant way.
